Most pleasant weekend

The weather has been wonderful, gentle winds, lots of sun. Had a drive to Rotorua airport and back along the lakes and marveled at the forget me nots all along the way. They must self seed with the help of the air gusts from the constant cars. There were swans with cygnets even.

Started  some seed growing, zucchini, thai basil, rocket and coriander. Dug in enhanced sheep pellets around the freshly weeded leeks as well as the carrots and beetroots. The rainbow beets that had this done last week have shown great growth.

Had a revelation, onion weed flowers are nice to eat, in fact you can eat the whole plant, especially the bulbs.
I like the flowers, they give a nice bite of garlicky oniony goodness. Wonderful with chedar cheese on a sandwich
