Late winter/early spring

Very nice Saturday, there was a real feel of warmth and a potential for growth in the air. The line of shadow across the garden is rapidly retreating every day. The first pink blossoms of the prunus tree have popped out, and lambs were seen last Saturday!

The peas were getting white mouldy bits so I removed them and let light through to the broccoli planted behind them. Rainbow beet seedlings that have been babied from seed were planted in their place. Pulled the first leek a day or so ago, a nice fat long white stalk from having been planted so deep. :)

Sunday was rainy and windy, an indoor day with a fire and a nice lunch with friends.
Ran about and put citrus fertilizer around the drip line of the lemon and lime trees...

Slightly warmer here too today, at least in the sun! Lots of folks on the waterfront, and we had to queue to get our gelato fix...

I love buying my mom plants — not flowers — as gifts. She has a gardenia that I’d given her 8 years ago. It’s now a huge, fragrant bush outside her kitchen door. When it’s in bloom, it fills her house with their fragrance. Every year I add to her little garden by sending her another plant via a florist. She’s got quite a nicely surrounded patio now!Bangalore Flowers
