Four sleeps till Christmas!

The plums are getting quite plummy, although the tree has lost a lot of leaves.

My thumb print shows from testing to see if they're ripening.

The Suso tomato is doing it's job

Whoosh goes another week...

And another weekend whooshes past as well.
The mosquitoes are a non event now when eating outside which is nice.
Ripped down the huge wall of sweet peas as they were at their end. So now I've moved one of the tomatoes over to the climbing frame and I'll attempt to restrain it onto the trellis. We had a small test eating of the yellow beans and they are edible, pleasant even! Hooray as they are rapidly becoming a force to be dealt with.

They grow to 18cm and have black seeds, "wonder of Venice".

The potatoes are looking good and so far, touch wood, there has been no sign of disease.

The soak hose seems to be a nice gentle way of delivering water to where it's needed most. The tap only just needs to be on a bit to get things nicely damp at ground level.

The plums are gently changing colour, the zucchini plant is getting ginormous, and the chili and capsicum plants look as though they will explode into flowers any minute. The new seedlings of rocket have come up, I look forward to some leaves on my cheese and mayonnaise sammys.

Wow, a busy weekend, parties and barbies and visitors and some gardening.
:)
Best thing was figuring out that the mozzies that had been annoying people were coming from the ever increasing bromeliads we were planting around our outdoor eating/sitting area. These epiphytes hold water in their centers. I looked into them at night with a torch and was amazed at the number of mosquito larvae I saw. The next day we removed the lot. That evening, no mosquitoes!
A quick visit to the plant shop and $30 later we had a new mystery hydrangea with a nice fine leaf, a palm and a sack of compost. Add fern from elsewhere in the garden and it all looks way better than before as well. Instant nice.

Planted some more large leaf rocket and a new genovese sweet basil amongst the tomato plants. They are all doing well, though I will move one in front of the climbing frame and espalier it once the sweet peas have finished.
Picked the first zucchini this evening.

The beans are going mad and have reached the pergola. I'll have to use the ladder to harvest them. With a bean like that I was nervous of having a visitor by the name of Jack...

The bean is called "Wonder of Venice" yellow with black seeds. I eagerly await the first feed!
